The Kaua‘i Poke Fest’s poke competition highlights the creativity and skill of professional and amateur chefs who develop their own interpretation Hawai‘i’s most iconic dish. Competitors in the poke competition will receive fresh ahi tuna to use as part of their recipe, inclusion in the 2025 Kōloa Landing Resort Poke Cookbook, and the opportunity to meet James Beard Award-winning Chef Sam Choy. Attendees and a panel of celebrity judges will sample and vote for their favorite dish in the following categories: taste, originality, and presentation.
This year’s festival will be our largest event ever. We will have over 30 teams compete for the coveted purple apron and crystal poke bowl (not to mention over $10,000 in prizes) using over 1,000 pounds of fresh ahi in their dishes.
